Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are a bold and flavorful twist on classic sliders, featuring crispy chicken coated in panko breadcrumbs, tossed in a creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce made from mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. These mini sliders deliver a perfect balance of heat, crunch, and creaminess, wrapped in soft slider buns with fresh leafy greens. Ideal for quick weeknight meals or party appetizers, they are easily customizable to fit various dietary preferences.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced or shredded
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or gluten-free alternative such as crushed gluten-free crackers or almond flour)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk or egg wash
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tbsp sriracha, adjusted to taste

Assembly

  • 8 soft slider buns (can be soft potato rolls, gluten-free or whole wheat options)
  • Leafy greens (such as lettuce or spinach), for freshness and crunch
  • Optional: sliced pickled veggies or cucumbers for extra crunch
  • Optional: cheese slices (pepper jack or mozzarella)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut chicken breasts into slider-sized pieces. Season well with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to build a flavorful base.
  2. Coat the Chicken: Dip the seasoned chicken pieces into buttermilk or egg wash to keep them moist, then press each piece into panko breadcrumbs until fully coated for optimal crispiness.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Fry in a pan with enough space to crisp each piece or bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, ensuring a juicy interior and crunchy exterior.
  4. Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Adjust sriracha to your preferred heat level for a creamy, spicy sauce.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: Lightly toast the slider buns. Spread a generous amount of bang bang sauce on each bun. Place the crispy chicken on the bottom half, add leafy greens and any optional toppings like pickled veggies or cheese slices, then close with the top bun.

Notes

  • Use fresh chicken breasts to ensure tenderness and better flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan during frying for best crispiness.
  • Make the bang bang sauce ahead of time to let the flavors meld.
  • Toast the slider buns lightly to prevent sogginess and add crunch.
  • Adjust sriracha gradually to customize the heat level.
