Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 8 oz flank or sirloin beef strips, thinly sliced against the grain

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Noodles

  • 6 oz egg noodles or wide rice noodles

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Other

  • 12 tbsp cooking oil (vegetable or sesame oil for stir-frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Thinly slice the beef against the grain for tenderness. Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince the garlic and ginger, and slice the green onions. Cook the noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and stir-fry until just browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside to keep it juicy.
  3. Sauté Broccoli and Aromatics: In the same pan, add broccoli florets along with minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is crisp-tender and aromatic.
  4. Combine Sauce Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the broccoli in the pan and let it simmer for about a minute to thicken slightly and coat the vegetables.
  5. Toss in the Noodles and Beef: Add the cooked noodles and beef back into the pan. Toss gently to combine everything well, ensuring noodles are coated with sauce and beef and broccoli are evenly mixed.
  6. Final Touches: Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top for a fresh, vibrant finish before serving.

Notes

  • Choose flank or sirloin cuts for lean, tender beef ideal for quick stir-frying.
  • Do not overcook broccoli; keep it crisp-tender to maintain texture and color.
  • Slice beef thinly against the grain to ensure it cooks quickly and stays juicy.
  • Prep all ingredients ahead because stir-frying is a fast process.
  • Add sauce gradually to suit your taste preference.
  • For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari and use gluten-free noodles.
  • Optional garnishes: toasted sesame seeds or crushed peanuts add extra crunch.
