Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • Store-bought or homemade pizza dough (enough to make about 12-16 bombs)
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1216 pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)

Optional Extras

  • Chopped bell peppers
  • Chopped olives
  • Chopped mushrooms
  • Jalapeños or red pepper flakes (for spice)
  • Cooked sausage, bacon bits, or ham (for meat lovers)
  • Roasted vegetables like zucchini, spinach, or mushrooms (for vegetarian version)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick to provide enough space for individual portions.
  2. Add the Fillings: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce evenly over the rolled dough. Layer slices of mozzarella cheese and pepperoni, as well as any optional toppings, spaced out evenly, leaving room between each portion to fold over.
  3. Shape the Pizza Bombs: Cut the dough around each filling cluster into squares or rounds. Fold the dough over the fillings and pinch all edges tightly to seal the cheese and toppings inside securely.
  4. Brush and Season: Brush each pizza bomb lightly with olive oil and sprinkle Italian seasoning or dried herbs over the tops to enhance browning and flavor during baking.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Place the formed pizza bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.

Notes

  • Seal edges properly to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
  • Do not overfill to avoid soggy dough and ease folding.
  • Keep pizza bombs uniform in size for even baking and portion consistency.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • Let shaped bombs rest for 10 minutes before baking to help the dough relax and maintain shape.
