Instructions

  1. Prep the Asparagus and Shrimp: Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus, then cut into bite-sized pieces. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to help sear them properly.
  2. Cook the Asparagus: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and sauté until bright green and just tender, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Garlic and Shrimp: In the same pan, add more olive oil if needed. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Combine and Add Lemon: Return asparagus to the skillet with shrimp. Pour in lemon juice and sprinkle lemon zest over the top. Gently stir to coat everything in the lemon garlic sauce.
  5. Season and Serve: Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes to taste. Toss once more, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
