Quick Cherry Pie Bites

Quick Cherry Pie Bites

Quick Cherry Pie Bites are a fast and easy dessert featuring juicy cherry filling wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust. Perfect for gatherings or simple cravings, they deliver the homemade charm of cherry pie in a bite-sized, shareable treat ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust

  • Pre-made or homemade pie crust (enough to cut into 2-3 inch squares)

Cherry Filling

  • Sweet and tart cherry pie filling (about 1 cup)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (to enhance sweetness)

Egg Wash

  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing on top)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Sugar sprinkles (for crunch and sparkle)
  • Sliced almonds (optional nutty topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out your pie crust on a lightly floured surface and have the cherry pie filling ready, along with the beaten egg for egg wash and any optional toppings.
  2. Cut and Fill: Cut the pie crust into small squares, about 2 to 3 inches each. Spoon a modest amount of cherry filling onto the center of each square, being careful not to overfill to prevent leaking.
  3. Fold and Seal: Fold each square in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal the bites tightly.
  4. Egg Wash and Sprinkle: Brush the top of each pie bite with the beaten egg wash to create a golden, glossy finish. Sprinkle sugar or sliced almonds on top if desired.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Place the pie bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill to avoid leaking and mess.
  • Use cold pie crust for easier handling and flakier texture.
  • Brush egg wash generously for shine and helping toppings stick.
  • Cut squares uniformly for even baking and neat presentation.
  • Allow bites to cool slightly before serving to avoid burning your mouth.
