Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 box Brownie Mix or 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder (for chocolate base)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar

Stuffing

  • 12 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (standard size, unwrapped)

Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter (creamy)
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 23 tbsp Heavy Cream or Milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Batter: Mix brownie ingredients according to the recipe or box instructions by combining eggs, melted butter, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder (or brownie mix) until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  2. Layer the Batter and Reese’s Cups: Pour half of the brownie batter into a greased baking pan. Arrange the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups evenly over the surface. Cover with the remaining batter, gently spreading it to seal the cups inside, creating a surprise center.
  3. Bake to Perfection: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick near the edge; it should come out with a few moist crumbs to ensure fudgy brownies.
  4. Prepare the Peanut Butter Frosting: While the brownies cool, whisk together peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a splash of heavy cream or milk until smooth and spreadable.
  5. Frost and Finish: Spread the peanut butter frosting generously over the slightly cooled brownies. Let set for about 20 minutes before slicing and serving for best results.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients to ensure smooth batter and frosting without lumps.
  • Avoid overbaking to preserve the fudgy, gooey center.
  • Opt for natural peanut butter for a richer and less greasy frosting.
  • Chill brownies after frosting for at least 30 minutes to achieve clean slices.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top to enhance the chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
