Ingredients

Scale

Pork Chops and Seasoning

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Season the Pork Chops: Begin by patting your pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.
  2. Sear the Pork Chops: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter and olive oil. Once the fat is shimmering, add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a beautiful golden brown crust. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside to rest.
  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce: Reduce heat to medium and in the same skillet add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant but not browned. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream while scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens slightly.
  4. Add the Parmesan and Herbs: Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated into the sauce. Add the chopped fresh parsley or your choice of herb, and season the sauce with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Pork Chops and Sauce: Return the pork chops to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and let everything simmer together for a few minutes until the pork chops are cooked through and juicy, soaking up the creamy garlic parmesan sauce.

Notes

  • Choose thick-cut pork chops for juicier results that hold up well to the sauce.
  • Don’t skip searing the pork chops to develop rich, deep flavors through browning.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melting quality and flavor.
  • Simmer the sauce gently to prevent curdling or graininess—do not boil.
  • Let the pork chops rest after cooking to keep them tender and juicy.
